FUN FALL PROJECTS

I love Fall and especially love to decorate for it. I am inspired by so many things around me, friends, magazines, HGTV of course. haha! If you get creative you can copy many ideas from many sources. My much loved source is Pottery Barn. Here are a few of my projects mostly inspired by PB. My friend Wendy made some adorable pumpkins made out of fabric and real stems. I thought I would give it a try, and really loved how they turned out. The hardest part about making these is being lucky enough to find some pumpkin stems at the bottom of the boxes they sell them in the stores. You really have to fish around to find one. lol..I used dupioni silk for these, next time I want to try some beautiful crushed velvet. For fun I added some dried basil leaves around the stem for more real effect.
Painted these cute side tables I bought from a local Antique store, also painted the lantern on the table that I got from Kohl's. I am not good at taking before photos. Note to self...take before photos:) My first time using Annie Sloan chalk paint. No need to sand or prime before painting. Love it!
I love the owls in PB but don't want to pay their prices. So..I was on a quest for an owl of any kind. I went to the Salvation Army and found this pretty glass owl for $4.  I couldn't believe that I actually found something that I was looking for. Usually that doesn't happen. lol Spray painted the inside of owl with a glass paint made to look like mercury glass. That stuff is amazing! It looks so pretty on my porch at night with a candle in it.
